First President of India

Dr. Rajendra Prasad was the First President of India. On 28th February 1963 he died in Patna (Bihar). Dr. Prasad was a Lawyer and Freedom Fighter. He was the President for 12 years from 1950 until 1962. He was a very important member of Indian National Congress. Dr. Prasad was the President Constituent Assembly of India.

Note:- Dr. Rajendra Prasad was born on 3rd December 1884.

डॉ राजेंद्र प्रसाद भारत के पहले राष्ट्रपति थे। 1950 से 1962 (12 सालों तक) वे भारत के राष्ट्रपति पद पर रहे। 28 फरवरी 1963 को उनका देहांत पटना (बिहार) में हुआ था। डॉ प्रसाद वकील होने के साथ साथ एक स्वतंत्रता सैनानी भी थे। उनकी गिनती भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस के प्रमुख नेताओं में होती थी। भारतीय संविधान सभा के अध्यक्ष भी डॉ प्रसाद थे। 

नोट:- डॉ राजेंद्र प्रसाद का जन्म 3 दिसम्बर 1884 को हुआ था।

Independence of Egypt

Egypt was occupied by Britshers during Anglo-Egyptian war. They remained in Egypt till 1956.
From 1882 to 1914 Egypt was under Ottaman Empire. In 1914 Britain declared its control over Egypt. From 1882 to 1914 British rule in Egypt is called as 'Veiled Protectorate'. 
On 28th February 1992 Sultan Fuad I declared himself as the king of Egypt & unilaterally declared independence of Egypt. But Britishers continued to stay in Egypt. 1952 Britishers agreed to pull out its troops from Egypt. In 1956 Britishers fought war with Egypt over Suez Canal, but Britishers failed to get international support & they had to withdraw its troops from Egypt.

What was Veiled Protectorate?
19th century Egypt was investing huge money on infrastructure. Europeans had given lots of foreign capital to Egypt. But Egypt was not able to pay back. Europeans took control of the treasury of Egypt, they decided to forego the dept, but took control of Suez Canal. 
So in real terms Europeans 'Britishers were in control of Egypt'.

मिस्र की स्वतंत्रता 

मिस्र पर ब्रिटिश आधिपत्य एग्लो-मिस्र युद्ध के दौरान शुरू हुआ। ब्रिटिश शासन का प्रभाव 1956 तक मिस्र में रहा। 
1882 से 1914 तक मिस्र ऑटोमन साम्राज्य के अधीन था। 1914 में ब्रिटेन ने मिस्र पर अपना अधिकार घोषित कर दिया। क्योंकि इस काल में ब्रिटेन 'अप्रत्यक्ष रक्षक' के तौर पर वैसे ही मिस्र पर राज कर रहा था। 
लेकिन 28 फरवरी 1922 को सुल्तान फौद ने अपने आपको मिस्र का राजा घोषित किया और एक तरफ़ा आज़ादी की घोषणा कर दी। लेकिन इसके बावजूद ब्रिटिश लोग मिस्र में टिके रहे। 1952 में उन्होंने मिस्र छोड़ने की बात मानी लेकिन स्वेज नहर को लेकर 1956 में मिस्र से युद्ध किया पर अन्तराष्ट्रीय सहयोग न मिलने के कारण ब्रिटेन को पीछे हटना पड़ा और मिस्र छोड़ना पड़ा।  

अप्रत्यक्ष रक्षक क्या था?
19वीं शताब्दी में मिस्र बहुत बड़े पैमाने पर विकास कर रहा था। यूरोपीय देशों का काफी पैसा भी इस देश के विकास में लगा हुआ था पर मिस्र विदेशी पैसा चुकाने में असमर्थ था। बदले में यूरोपीय देशों ने उसके खजाने पर कब्ज़ा किया और मिस्र के कर्ज को माँफ कर स्वेज नहर पर कब्ज़ा कर लिया। 
असल में यूरोप "ब्रिटेन मिस्र की सत्ता पर काबिज था"।

Ganesh Vasudev Mavalankar

Mavalankar was the First Speaker of Lok Sabha, the lower house of Indian Parliament. He died on 27th February in year 1956. He was the Speaker from 1952 to 1956. Mavalankar joined Non-Cooperation Movement and took part in the struggle for the Independence of India. When the constitution of India was adopted on 26th November 1949, he became the Speaker of Provisional Parliament. He continued till First General Elections in Independent India were held on 15th May 1952. He was elected to Lok Sabha from Ahmedabad and was made the First Speaker of Lok Sabha.
Note:- G.V.Mavalankar was born on 27th November 1988. He was a Marathi but lived most of his life in Gujarat.

गणेश वासुदेव मावलंकर 

आज़ाद भारत की संसद के निचले सदन (लोक सभा) के पहले अध्यक्ष थे गणेश वासुदेव मावलंकर। 27 फरवरी 1956 को उनका देहांत हुआ था। 1952 से 1956 तक वे लोक सभा के अध्यक्ष पद पर रहे। 
असहयोग आंदोलन में हिस्सा लेकर उन्होंने देश के स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में अपना महत्त्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया। 
26 नवम्बर 1949 को जब भारत के संविधान को मान लिया गया तो उन्हें अंतरिम संसद का अध्यक्ष बनाया गया। 15 मई 1952 को जब भारत के पहले आम चुनाव हुए, तब तक वे इस पद पर रहे। पहले आम चुनाव में अहमदाबाद से उन्होंने जीत हासिल करी और लोक सभा के सांसद बने और फिर अध्यक्ष। 
नोट:- 27 नवम्बर 1888 को मावलंकर का जन्म हुआ था। उनका जीवन गुजरात में गुजरा पर वे मूलतः मराठी थे।

Shaheed Chandra Shekhar Azad

Hero of India's Freedom Struggle and a Fearless Fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad was martyred on 27th February 1931 at Alfred Park in Allahabad (Now Prayagraj). His own accomplice Virbhadra Tiwari had informed the British Police of his presence in the Park. Azad was surrounded by the police but he fought like a true fighter, till the end and finally shot himself.
The supreme sacrifice made by Azad, continues to inspire millions.

Note:- Chandra Shekhar Tiwari was born on 23rd July 1906 in Madhya Pradesh. He adopted the name 'AZAD'. 
Alfred park is now Chandra Shekhar Azad Park.

शहीद चंद्र शेखर आज़ाद 

भारतीय स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के हीरो और एक निडर योद्धा को आज के दिन 27 फरवरी 1931 को वीरगति प्राप्त हुई थी। उनके अपने साथी वीरभद्र तिवारी ने अंग्रेज पुलिस को आज़ाद के अल्फ्रेड पार्क, इलाहाबाद (अब प्रयागराज) में होने की सुचना दी थी। पर एक योद्धा की तरह आज़ाद आखिरी दम तक पुलिस से लड़े और अंतिम गोली उन्होंने खुद को मार दी। उनके द्वारा किया गया सर्वोचय बलिदान हमेशा करोड़ों भारतीयों को प्रेरणा देता रहेगा। 

नोट:- आज़ाद जी का वास्तविक नाम चंद्र शेखर तिवारी था लेकिन वे खुद को आज़ाद बुलाना पसंद करते थे। 23 जुलाई 1906 को उनका जन्म मध्यप्रदेश में हुआ था। 
अल्फ्रेड पार्क को अब चंद्र शेखर पार्क के नाम से जाना जाता है।

Anandibai Gopalrao Joshi

Indian female Physician died on 26th February 1887 in Pune (Maharashtra).
She was the first female Physician of India. She became the first Indian woman to study medicine in United States. She was born as Yamuna & was raised in Kalyan. She was married early, at the age of just nine years (Child marriages were normal those days in Indian Society). Her husband Gopalrao Joshi, always believed in education of women. He encouraged Anandibai to study, when the couple shifted to Calcutta (Now Kolkatta) Anandibai suffered from headaches, breathlessness and weakness. Her husband decided to send her to United States for Medical treatment. In America Anandibai applied for admission to Women's Medical College, Pennsylvania. Breaking the barriers and the orthodox Indian mindset Anandibai went on to became a qualified Physician.

Note:- Anandibai Gopalrao Joshi was born on 31st March 1865.

आनंदीबाई गोपालराव जोशी 

भारत की इस महान डॉक्टर की मृत्यु 26 फरवरी 1887 को पुणे (महाराष्ट्र) में हुई थी। 
उन्हें भारत की पहली महिला डॉक्टर होने का गौरव प्राप्त था। अमेरिका जाकर आनंदीबाई ने डॉक्टरी की पढ़ाई की थी। उनके जन्म का नाम यमुना था उनकी परवरिश कल्याण में हुई थी। आनंदीबाई की शादी 9 वर्ष की आयु में कर दी गई थी। उस समय के भारतीय समाज में लड़कियों की शादी कम उम्र में कर दी जाती थी। उनके पति गोपालराव जोशी महिला शिक्षा का समर्थन करते थे। गोपालराव ने अपनी पत्नी को आगे पढ़ने के लिए प्रेरित किया। जब वें कलकत्ता (अब कोलकत्ता) जाकर बस गए थे तो आनंदीबाई की अक्सर तबीयत खराब रहती थी। उनके पति ने उन्हें इलाज के लिए अमेरिका भेजा। वहाँ आनंदीबाई ने महिला मेडिकल कॉलेज , पेनसिलवेनिया में दाखिला लिया। भारतीय रूढ़िवादी परम्पराओ को तोड़कर आनंदीबाई भारत की पहली महिला डॉक्टर बनी। 

नोट:- आनंदीबाई गोपालराव जोशी का जन्म 31 मार्च 1865 को हुआ था।

A Noted Lawyer & Supreme Court Judge Hans Raj Khanna had died on 25th February 2008 in New Delhi.
During Emergency (1975-77) he upheld the Civil Liberties in his lone dissenting judgement in 1976.
He became famous when in Jabalpur ADM V Shiv Kant Shukla, Habeas corpus case, he went against the judgement of other four members of the bench who had agreed to the view of the government that fundamental rights too could be curbed during state of emergency. His lone dissenting judgement, made him a household name & legal experts had lauded him for upholding the rights of common citizens of the country. But he had to pay the price for his judgement. At the behest of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, despite being the senior most Judge he was not appointed as the Chief Justice of Supreme Court of India. Khanna resigned as Supreme Court Judge in 1977.
Hans Raj Khanna had an illustrious career as Lawyer & Judge.

Note:- Hans Raj Khanna was born on 3rd July 1912 in Amritsar (Punjab). He served as Minister of Law & Justice in Janata Dal Govt. in 1979. He was also the chairman of 8th Law Commission.

What is Habeas Corpus case?
A writ of Habeas Corpus is used to bring a prisoner before the court to determine whether the detention of prisoner is lawful.

State of Emergency
Indira Gandhi had declared emergency on 25th June 1975. During emergency all the Rights 'Civil Liberties' of citizens were almost curbed. The entire opposition was put behind bars. The emergency ended on 21st March 1997.

हंस राज खन्ना 

प्रख्यात वकील तथा सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के न्यायधीश हंस राज खन्ना का 25 फरवरी 2008 को नई दिल्ली में निधन हो गया था। 
आपातकाल के दौरान (1975-77) उन्होंने नागरिक स्वतंत्रता की रक्षा के 5 जजों के द्वारा सुने जा रहे एक केस में बाकी चार जजों के अलग अपना फैसला सुनाया था। जहाँ बाकी चार जज सरकार की इस दलील को मान गए थे की आपातकाल के दौरान सरकार मौलिक अधिकारों पर अंकुश लगा सकती है। हंस राज खन्ना ने किसी भी तरह से मौलिक अधिकारों पर रोक को संविधान की मूल भावना के खिलाफ बताया था। 
1976 का यह केस जबलपुर के ए.डी.एम. वी. शिव कांत शुक्ला का केस था। कानूनी भाषा में इसे बंदी प्रत्यक्षीकरण कहते हैं। 
उनकी बाकी जजों से अलग राय के कारण वरिष्ठता में सबसे ऊपर होने के बावजूद उन्हें प्रधानमंत्री इंदिरा गाँधी के निर्देश पर सर्वोच्च न्यायालय का मुख्य न्यायधीश नहीं बनाया गया। 
खन्ना ने 1977 में जज के पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया। हंस राज खन्ना का कानूनी सफर बहुत गौरवपूर्ण रहा। 

नोट:- हंस राज खन्ना का जन्म 3 जुलाई 1912 को अमृतसर (पंजाब) में हुआ था। जनता दाल की सरकार के दौरान वे केंद्रीय न्याय मंत्री रहे। 8वें लॉ कमीशन के वे अध्यक्ष भी थे। 

बंदी प्रत्यक्षीकरण क्या है?
बंदी प्रत्यक्षीकरण एक कानूनी रिट है, जिसके द्वारा गैर-कानूनी ढंग से गिरफ्तारी के खिलाफ रिहाई की माँग की जाती है।    

आपातकालीन स्थिति 
प्रधानमंत्री इंदिरा गाँधी ने देश पर 25 जून 1975 को आपातकाल लगा दिया था। आपातकाल के दौरान 'नागरिक स्वतंत्रता' अधिकार लगभग ख़त्म कर दिए गए थे।

Dr. Pasha (The Former Prime Minister of Egypt) was assassinated on 24th February 1945 at parliament by Mahmoud El-Essawy, 'a 28 yrs old member of Radical Muslim Brotherhood'. 
Dr. Pasha was the Prime Minister of Egypt from 10th of October 1944 to 24th of February 1945. 
King Farouk had appointed him as Prime Minster after King removed Mustafa al-Nahhas Pasha from the post.
Dr. Ahmed Maher Pasha was opposed to the participation of Muslim brotherhood members in politics. He had even declared a Fatwa against the group.

Note:- Dr. Ahmed Maher Pasha was a member of Saadist Institutional Party. He was born in year 1888.
"Fatwa" is a religious order issued by a Muslim cleric or leader.

डॉ अहमद मेहर पाशा 

डॉ अहमद मेहर पाशा (मिस्र के पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री) की 24 फरवरी 1945 को संसद में हत्या कर दी गई थी। उनके हत्यारे का नाम महमूद ऐल ऐस्सावी था। 28 वर्षीय ऐस्सावी का सम्बन्ध मुस्लिम ब्रदरहुड नाम के कट्टरपंथी संगठन से था। 
डॉ पाशा 10 अक्टूबर 1944 से 24 फरवरी 1945 तक मिस्र के प्रधानमंत्री रहे।
राजा फारुख ने मुस्तफा अल-नहास पाशा को हटाकर उन्हें प्रधानमंत्री नियुक्त किया था।
डॉ पाशा कट्टरपंथी मुस्लिम ब्रदरहुड की राजनैतिक सक्रियता के खिलाफ थे। यहाँ तक की उन्होंने इस संगठन के खिलाफ फ़तवा भी जारी किया था। 
नोट:- डॉ अहमद मेहर पाशा का सम्बन्ध सैडिस्ट संस्थागत पार्टी से था। साल 1888 में उनका जन्म हुआ था। 
"फ़तवा" इस्लाम में एक धार्मिक आदेश है, जिसको मुस्लिम नेता या धर्मगुरु द्वारा जारी किया जाता है।
