Ganesh Vasudev Mavalankar
Mavalankar was the First Speaker of Lok Sabha, the lower house of Indian Parliament. He died on 27th February in year 1956. He was the Speaker from 1952 to 1956. Mavalankar joined Non-Cooperation Movement and took part in the struggle for the Independence of India. When the constitution of India was adopted on 26th November 1949, he became the Speaker of Provisional Parliament. He continued till First General Elections in Independent India were held on 15th May 1952. He was elected to Lok Sabha from Ahmedabad and was made the First Speaker of Lok Sabha.
Note:- G.V.Mavalankar was born on 27th November 1988. He was a Marathi but lived most of his life in Gujarat.

गणेश वासुदेव मावलंकर
आज़ाद भारत की संसद के निचले सदन (लोक सभा) के पहले अध्यक्ष थे गणेश वासुदेव मावलंकर। 27 फरवरी 1956 को उनका देहांत हुआ था। 1952 से 1956 तक वे लोक सभा के अध्यक्ष पद पर रहे।
असहयोग आंदोलन में हिस्सा लेकर उन्होंने देश के स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में अपना महत्त्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया।
26 नवम्बर 1949 को जब भारत के संविधान को मान लिया गया तो उन्हें अंतरिम संसद का अध्यक्ष बनाया गया। 15 मई 1952 को जब भारत के पहले आम चुनाव हुए, तब तक वे इस पद पर रहे। पहले आम चुनाव में अहमदाबाद से उन्होंने जीत हासिल करी और लोक सभा के सांसद बने और फिर अध्यक्ष।
नोट:- 27 नवम्बर 1888 को मावलंकर का जन्म हुआ था। उनका जीवन गुजरात में गुजरा पर वे मूलतः मराठी थे।
