On 30th January in year 1948 Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, 'BAPU for millions' was assassinated in the compound of Birla House in Delhi.
He was shot three times in the chest by the assassin at point blank range. Birla House now is known as Gandhi Samriti. Lakhs of people visit Gandhi Samriti to pay their homage to the great human every year. His last rites were performed at Rajghat. Now a Memorial.
Mahatma Gandhi was a lawyer by profession, fought for the independence of India. His struggle for free India against colonial rule was non violent. He was a pure Nationalist & a Reformist.
'Mahatma Gandhi was born on 2nd October 1869 at Porbander in the state of Gujarat'.
महात्मा की हत्या
30 जनवरी 1948 को मोहनदास करमचंद गाँधी 'करोड़ों व्यक्तियों के लिए बापू' की दिल्ली के बिड़ला हाऊस प्रांगण में हत्या कर दी गई थी। उनके हत्यारे ने उन्हें नजदीक से सीने में तीन बार गोली मार दी थी।
बिड़ला हाऊस को आज गाँधी स्मृति के नाम से भारत ही नहीं पुरे विश्व में जाना जाता है। उनका अंतिम संस्कार राजघाट में हुआ था। राजघाट अब एक शहीद स्मारक है।
महात्मा गाँधी एक वकील थे। देश के स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में उनका प्रमुख योगदान रहा। ब्रिटिश शासन के खिलाफ उन्होंने अहिंसा का रास्ता अपनाया।
एक राष्ट्रवादी होने के साथ साथ गाँधी जी एक समाज सुधारक भी थे।
