Republic Day Of India
On 26th of January in 1950, the holiest book of democracy 'Constitution of India' came into effect.
26th January was chosen to declare India a Republic because on this day in 1930, the call for 'TOTAL FREEDOM' was given by our Leaders.
Facts-
The 1st draft of the constitution was presented to the National Assembly on 4th Nov, 1947. The constitution was accepted & signed on 24th January 1950.
The first Republic Day parade was held at Rajpath in 1955.
The day India adopted its own constitution it became the 'Republic of India'.
The National Anthem 'JANA GANA MANA' written by Rabindranath Tagore was adopted by Constituent Assembly on 24th January 1950.
Dr. Rajendra Prasad was sworn in as the first President of India.

भारत का गणतंत्र दिवस
26 जनवरी 1950 को भारत के संविधान को स्वीकार किया गया था । इस दिन को इसलिए चुना गया था क्योंकि 26 जनवरी 1930 में भारत के नेताओं ने अग्रेंजो के खिलाफ 'पुर्ण स्वराज' का नारा दिया था ।
तथ्य-
संविधान सभा ने संविधान का पहला ड्राफ्ट 4 नवम्बर 1947 को राष्ट्रीय असेंबली को दिया था
24 जनवरी 1950 को संविधान पर हस्ताक्षर किये गये थे ।
जब संविधान लागू हुआ तो भारत एक 'गणतंत्र' बन गया ।
डाँ राजेन्द्र प्रसाद देश के पहले राष्ट्रपति बने ।
पहली परेड राजपथ पर 1955 में हुई थी ।
24 जनवरी 1950 को संविधान सभा ने रबिंदरनाथ टेगौर द्वारा लिखे 'जन गण मन' को राष्ट्रीय गान के रूप में स्वीकार किया था ।
