UK Aldershot Garrison Bombings
On 22nd February 1972 Irish Republican Army (IRA) detonated a car bomb at the gate of Aldershot Garrison 16 Parachute Brigade Headquarters. Seven civilians (Mostly Female) died & more than 19 were injured. IRA claimed responsibility and termed the attack as a revenge for 30th January 1972 mass shooting of 26 civilians in Derby (North Ireland) by British soldiers. Irish people were protesting against internment of their people (they claimed) was unfair.
Note:- Irish Republican Army (IRA) was formed in December 1937. IRA was established to demand for the complete independence of Ireland from UK. It was designated as the most deadliest terrorist group by United States & rest of the world.
"Last viceroy of British India Lord Mountbatten was assassinated by Irish Republican Army on 27th August 1979".
IRA reached to a peace agreement in 1998 with UK authorities at Belfast. IRA declared ceasefire and agreed to disarm by year 2000. In the same year USA stopped calling IRA a terrorist group. Peace returned to UK.

एल्डरशॉट (यू.के.) सैन्य दुर्ग में विस्फोट
22 फरवरी 1972 को आयरिश रिपब्लिकन आर्मी (आई.आर.ए.) ने एल्डरशॉट सैन्य दुर्ग के 16वीं पैराशूट ब्रिगेड के मुख्यालय के बाहर एक कार बम विस्फोट किया था। इस विस्फोट में 7 नागरिकों (ज्यादातर महिलाएँ) की मौत हो गई थी और 19 से ज्यादा लोग जख्मी हो गए थे। आई.आर.ए. ने इस हमले को 30 जनवरी 1972 में ब्रिटिश (पैराशूट) ब्रिगेड द्वारा डर्बी में 26 निर्दोष नागरिकों की हत्या का बदला बताया। जब हत्याऐं की गई थी तब आयरिश लोग बिना मुक़दमे के उनके अपनों को सज़ा देने का विरोध कर रहे थे।
नोट:- आयरिश रिपब्लिकन आर्मी का गठन 1937 दिसम्बर में हुआ था।आई.आर.ए. आयरलैंड की पूरी आज़ादी की मॉंग करता था। कई देशों (यू.के.) या अमेरिका आई.आर.ए. को एक खतरनाक आतंकवादी संगठन मानते थे।
"भारत के आखरी ब्रिटिश वायसरॉय लार्ड माउंटबैटन की हत्या भी आई.आर.ए. ने 27 अगस्त 1979 को कर दी थी।"
1998 में आई.आर.ए. ने उत्तरी आयरलैंड के शहर बैलफ़ास्ट में यू.के. के साथ शांति समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए, युद्ध विराम हुआ और आयरिश रिपब्लिकन आर्मी ने हथियार पूरी तरह त्याग देने का वादा किया। अमेरिका ने भी सन 2000 में आई.आर.ए. को आतंकवादी संगठन कहना बंद कर दिया और यू.के. में शांति लौट आई।
