Maulana Abul Kalam Azad
A Scholar, Freedom Fighter and First Education Minister of Independent India had died on 22nd February 1958 in Delhi.
Maulana Azad was one of the most prominent members of Indian National Congress, during India's struggle for independence and a very senior Cabinet Minister in post independent India.
At the age of 35 yrs he became the youngest President of Indian National Congress (INC) from 1923 to 1924.
He started his career as a Journalist and was very critical of colonial Biritish Raj.
Azad participated in Khilafat Movement. He was a supporter of Gandhi's idea of non-violence and all his life worked for the communal harmony amongst Hindus & Muslims.
He wrote his autobiography titled 'India Wins Freedom' (A Masterpiece).
One of the makers of modern India Maulana Azad was born on 11th November 1888 in the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.
Note:- He was Education Minister from 1947 until 25th September 1958.
'Azad' was his pen name, the word means 'Free' in English.

मौलाना अबुल कलाम आज़ाद
एक स्वतंत्रता सैनानी, एक विद्वान तथा आज़ाद भारत के पहले शिक्षा मंत्री मौलाना आज़ाद का इंतकाल 22 फरवरी 1958 को नई दिल्ली में हुआ था।
मौलाना आज़ाद भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस के एक महत्त्वपूर्ण सदस्य थे और 15 अगस्त 1947 (भारत की स्वतंत्रता) के बाद भारत सरकार में केंद्रीय मंत्रीमंडल के भी प्रमुख अंग रहे।
मात्र 35 साल की उम्र में 1923 से 1924 तक वे भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस के अध्य्क्ष बने।
अपने जीवन की शुरुआत उन्होंने पत्रकार के तौर पर की और मुखर होकर अंग्रेजी राज की मुख़ालफ़त की।
मौलाना आज़ाद ने खिलाफत आंदोलन में हिस्सा लिया और महात्मा गाँधी के संपर्क में आए, गाँधी के अहिंसा के 'सिद्धांत से काफी प्रभावित थे आज़ाद। पूरा जीवन उन्होंने हिन्दू-मुस्लिम एकता को बल देने में लगाया।
उनकी आत्मकथा 'भारत आज़ादी जीता' एक अति उत्कृष्ट कृति है।
आधुनिक भारत के निर्माताओं में से एक मौलाना आज़ाद का जन्म सऊदी अरब की पाक ज़मीन मक्का में 11 नवम्बर 1888 को हुआ था।
नोट:- आज़ाद 1947 से 25 सितम्बर 1958 तक भारत के शिक्षा मंत्री थे।
आज़ाद उनका उपनाम था जिसका मतलब अंग्रेजी शब्द में 'फ्री' (FREE) होता है।
