Father of Indian Cinema
The Father of Indian Cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke died on 16th Feb 1944 at the age of 74 yrs. He was a scriptwriter and director.
Dhundiraj Govind Phalke (Dadasaheb Phalke) was born on 30th of April 1870 in Marathi Brahmin family.
In 1912 he made his first movie (silent) 'Satyawadi Raja Harishchandra' and the Indian Film Industry was born.
Phalke along with some well reputed businessmen formed India's first film company 'Hindustan Films'.
In 19 yrs of his film career, Phalke made 95 long & 25 short movies.

भारतीय सिनेमा के जनक दादासाहिब फालके का देहान्त 74 साल की उम्र में 16 फरवरी 1944 को हुआ था। दादासाहिब एक निर्देशक और कथानक थे।
धुंडिराज गोविन्द फालके उर्फ दादासाहिब फालके का जन्म एक मराठा ब्राह्मण परिवार में 30 अप्रैल 1870 को हुआ था।
1912 में उन्होनें पहली फिल्म 'सत्यवादी राजा हरिशचंद्र' (मूक) बनाई और भारतीय फिल्म उधोग की शुरूआत हुई।
तब के कुछ जाने माने व्यापारियों के साथ मिलकर भारत की पहली फिल्म कम्पनी 'हिन्दुस्तान फिल्मस की स्थापना करी।
19 साल के अपने फिल्मी सफ़र में फालके ने लगभग 95 लम्बी और 25 छोटी फिल्में बनाई।
